Danish authorities announced the abolition of tax on fat in food.

This tax was introduced about a year ago in order to deal with unhealthy diets and increasing life expectancy of Danes, 47% who are overweight, a 13% - obesity.

However, it became clear after a year, that the law cost the Danes expensive due to the increase in food prices, but the expected results did not lead. Besides, many citizens began to buy products abroad while traveling.

"Now we have to take something else to improve the health of the population", - said Minister for Food, Mette country Gzherskov (Mette Gjerskov).

Some retail chains have already announced, which again cut prices after the abolition of tax on products.

Denmark became the first country in the world, where such a tax was introduced.
