Committee for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision of the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan held a test of seven different products Ukrainian Roshen confectionery corporation, benzapilene presence has been detected, chairman of the Committee Zhandarbek Bekshin at a briefing on Monday in Astana.

“We conducted a study of a large number of products. We look primarily benzopyrene. Seven items examined, no benzopyrene”, – he said.

According to him, benzopyrene in the first place may contain food, are prepared by combustion of different fuels, – Smoked sausage and fish, barbecue. Also, a substance found in automobile exhaust, tobacco smoke.

Zh.Bekshin noted, that the test, which is still ongoing, held in Almaty and Astana, which imported most of these products. The whole production takes Roshen 15-20% confectionery market of Kazakhstan.

Speaking about the possibility of introducing a ban on supplies to Kazakhstan Roshen products due to non-compliance with requirements of the legislation of the Customs Union (TS), said the head of department: “Now, this study is conducted. We have appealed to officials Rospotrebnadzor last week, but the official answer, we have not yet received. Only after receiving an official response we can take action to ban these products”.

As reported, Rospotrebnadzor banned the supply to Russia with Ukrainian confectionery factories Roshen Corporation in connection with the inadequate quality.

Russian agencies reported, that the study of confectionery, produced by Roshen factories, revealed violations of legislation in the field of sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the person – organoleptic characteristics, toxic impurities – and legislation in the field of consumer protection – disparity information about the nutritional value of products, on the label.

At the same time, the company has denied the charges.

In accordance with Article 7 Customs Union Agreement on Sanitary Measures, TC-member countries accepted the obligations of the mutual exchange of information in cases of product detection, inappropriate Uniform sanitary and epidemiological and hygienic requirements and the requirements of technical regulations of the CU.

Roshen exports its products to Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, USA, Canada, Germany, Israel.
