The Russian confectionery market prices continue to rise. A study by Intesco Research Group «Confectionery market – 2012»show, Structurally changing demand for confectionery products in 2011 Once stimulated, the rise in prices. Compared with the previous year, growth in the average retail price was: on cookies, muffins and rolls, cakes and candies – by 10%; for gingerbread – 13%, candies, glazed with chocolate – 9%, chocolate – by 14%, natural chocolates with additives -8%, marshmallows and candy – by 17%.
In 2011 , retail sales of confectionery products increased in value by more than 18%. The main regions of sales through the retail trade became the Central and Volga federal districts. In the structure of confectionery retail sales share of the Central Federal District occupies almost 36%, Volga Federal District – a fifth part, Siberian Federal District – 10,5%, Northwestern Federal District – nearly 10%, Ural Federal District – 7,8%. The largest regions of Russia in terms of retail sales of confectionery products are g. Moscow, Moscow region, d. St. Petersburg, Samara region and Svrdlovskaya, Republic of Bashkortostan and the Tyumen region.
In the first half of the year 2011 year cookies, biscuits and crackers gained almost three-quarters of Russians, gingerbread – about 62%, waffles – third of the population, cakes and biscuits bought one in five. Marmalade in demand half the population, about 76% Russians consume chocolate bars.
