In this regard, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision on the establishment of model food samples control of the European Union - said Head Derzhvetfitosluzhby Ukraine Ivan Bisyuk.
"Following the example of the European Union, the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine will be able to fully control the quality and safety of food: on the application of organic and mineral fertilizers in the soil, animal feed, monitoring of pesticide and veterinary drugs residues in products of animal origin and before processing of plant and animal raw materials, proper delivery to the consumer, controlling the supply chain and implementation across the country ", – said Chairman of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service.
"Reform of the food industry involves the establishment of a single competent authority on the basis of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service. But, It does not mean, that from now on only veterinarians should control herbal products, or special dietary and baby food. For this purpose, specialists from other structures will be transferred to the civil service staff of the Competent Authority. ", – said John Bisyuk.
Creation of a single body to monitor the quality of food will increase the level of control over its safety. The competent authority is formed on the basis of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine, which will join the ranks of specialists of Food Hygiene, phytosanitary direction, Plant Protection. This was stated by the Chairman Ivan Bisyuk. Until, while the newly established competent authority will not be able to fully take over all functions, their experts will perform health service, who have performed such activities professionally and responsibly to this day.
World practice shows constantly, the most effective and transparent control over the quality of products provides a single competent authority. In Ukraine, as in many other countries, the creation of such a state structure is the prerogative of the President and the Government, Today, no other body, authorized to control the safety of products, does not want to get rid of leverage.
Tumors competent authority will maintain the experience and becomes more transparent, within the meaning of time and the international community.
