Manufacturers of confectionery and snack products at the ISM exhibition 2024

WITH 28 January to 31 January in the city of Cologne, Germany held the exhibition of sweets and snacks ISM Cologne.

Representatives of national companies at the stand, they also got acquainted with the innovations and trends in confectionery and snack industries, and conducted over hundreds of negotiations with potential internationals buyers, suppliers of raw materials and ingredients, who visited ISM exhibition.

After returning to Ukraine, the participants of the national stand shared their impressions, including, export manager "Invert" LLC Olena Klish said: "This exhibition gave us another opportunity show Europe ,that Ukrainian companies follow global trends in in the field of confectionery products and can adequately represent Ukraine in this field sphere New acquaintances, new ideas, new inspiration…. It's all that, why we visited this exhibition!».

In turn, Lyudmila Sidenko, JSC director "Zhytomyr delicacies", thanked GIZ for the opportunity to present company at the ISM exhibition, and for helping and providing everything necessary for conducting meetings with potential and existing ones partners in comfortable conditions and a warm atmosphere.

The representatives of PrJSC "Dniprovsky Combine of Food Concentrates" were not left behind.: "We were happy to present our products to European store chains and food distributors: confectionery (tubes, candy bars, pillows, waffles), corn sticks, salty snacks, cereals, instant soups, breadcrumbs, coffee, coffee drinks, cocoa, jelly. Expanding opportunities for cooperation is an important aspect of our company's development strategy," said Oleksandr Kryvolap, director of the sales department.

Also, the director of the PP "Let's be healthy" shared her impressions of the ISM exhibition (TM "Smakuli") Ruslana Rymarska: "Our company took part in such a large-scale exhibition for the first time. Preparation for the exhibition was very effective, which included educational webinars, processing materials on the IPD platform and performing homework on the formation of a price and unique sales offer, as well as company presentations. An important successful element of training was the work of consultants, who organized b2b meetings. During the exhibition, we received many favorable comments about our products from visitors to the stand, and spent 13 pre-planned b2b meetings. We are grateful to the Association and personally to Oleksandr Baldynyuk for creating such an opportunity for our company.".

New Food Summit 2023

Association UKRKONDPROM invites Ukrainian confectionery manufacturers to join the VTrade Confectionery Foods Initiative

The VTrade Confectionery Foods Initiative is implemented under the support of the USAID “Competitive Economy of Ukraine” Program to help Ukrainian confectionery manufacturers despite the Covid-19-related restrictions to develop export and deepen trade relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), countries through 2 activity components:

I COMPONENT. ONLINE B2B MEETINGS.

With the help of local consultants - residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Philippines, a list of potential partners,, importers and distributors of confectionery products –  from ASEAN and the GCC countries will be formed and individual online B2B negotiations for Ukrainian confectionery manufacturers will be organized. It is also planned to organize at least 60 online B2B meetings between Ukrainian confectionery manufacturers and potential domestic and international buyers in each of the two 60 regions within the period from January to April, , 2021 year.

II COMPONENT. B2B OUTBOUND TRADE MISSION in Philippines and KSA.

When Covid-19 restrictions allow, , trade missions to the Philippines and Saudi Arabia , will be conducted for Ukrainian confectionery manufacturers to meet with local importers and distributors of confectionery products (tentatively - July-August 2021 .).

Requirements for participants:

• Export experience;

• Availability of an English-language site and catalog, as well as English-speaking managers for B2B negotiations;

• Availability of the necessary certificates and compliance with the food requirements and regulations of the target markets.

USAID Program “Competitive Economy of Ukraine” supports star-ups and MSB enterprises with the aim to enhance their competitiveness on local and international markets, helps to build transparent and simplified regulation, and provides Ukrainian companies with opportunities to benefit from international trade.

Association “Ukrkondprom” took part in the Conference "Technologies of production and packaging of confectionery

16 September 2020 year in Kiev was held Conference "Confectionery industry in the face of new challenges", in which the president of the Association took part “Ukrkondprom”- Oleksandr Baldyniuk.

During his speech, Alexander Baldynyuk said, that according to the results of the first half 2020 Exports of Ukrainian confectionery products remained at about the same level as last year (115 thousand tons exported to 6 months 2020 ., while in the first half of 2019. this figure was 114.7 thousand tons), the dynamics of export growth slowed down, including through Covid-19. Regarding imports, then the vast majority of confectionery products are now imported to Ukraine from countries such as: Poland (31%), Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey(9,3%).

Alexander Baldynyuk also spoke about the problems of the industry, including, regarding the need for legislative regulation of registration of places of alcohol storage, used for own production needs as an ingredient; limiting the number of trans isomers in food; lack of the State Register of Food Additives, etc..
